As the Missionary Sisters and Fr. D. Bouchard, FSSP were developing the concept of a blended learning center to assist home schooling parents in our Parish, the decision was made that if we could not protect our students online that the entire project would be abandoned.
After months of prayer and study, the SafetyNet began to take shape. This was a tremendous breakthrough guided by Our Lord and Our Lady. After two years of beta testing, and now 7 years live, we have found Saint Joseph’s SafetyNet to be a reliable way of providing a safe and secure environment for students to access their classes without the fear of them accessing or stumbling upon content that would be detrimental to their spiritual, moral and academic development.
Also, since some students struggle with monitoring their computer time when it comes to games and social media and some parents find it difficult to adequately monitor their student's access to the internet, we wish to share Saint Joseph’s SafetyNet with other families.
The Missionary Sisters were established to assist families in raising “Saintly Scholars”. The SafetyNet is part of that mission. When your child is logged into a chromebook enrolled in Saint Joseph’s SafetyNet they are more keenly focused on their academic pursuits rather than surfing the web, emailing or accessing games and social media sites, because the SafetyNet only allows access to the sites necessary for classwork.
